The Executive Regulations (hereinafter bylaws) of the 2024 Asylum Law were published in the Official Gazette dated 21 May 2026, stipulating a three-month period before they enter into force. The Prime Minister’s Decree (no. 1568 of 2026) publishing the bylaws constitutes a major and long-anticipated step towards the operationalisation of the Asylum Law, especially the establishment of a national system to manage all asylum matters previously managed by UNHCR over decades.
